Booknerds held a political books hangout here on Sunday with intellectuals, book lovers, authors, academics and others attending the event. A gamut of political books was discussed including ‘Checkmate’ by Alok Shah discussed by Sanjeev Srivastava and Yudhishter Puran Singh, Puneet Kohli discussed political ideologies and how they work using Milan Kundera’s books ‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being’ and ‘The Book of Laughter and Forgetting’, Gazala Khan discussed ‘Chapter 31’ by Ashok Bhasin and Geeta Shukla discussed ‘I Will Win Without War’ by Tanisha Tiwari.
Mumbai-based author Alok Shah talked about his debut book Checkmate -Chronicles of New Bharat. Initially conceptualised as a screenplay, his storytelling skills transformed it into the gripping book it is today. Drawing from real-life experiences and an inherent love for tales from bygone eras, he presents a thrilling intersection of history, intrigue, and imaginative speculation.
The hangout concluded with a book signing by Shah and political book recommendations by the readers present.
