The additional director general (Administration) of the Uttarakhand police Amit Sinha directed all senior/superintendents of police to exercise special caution during the vote counting process for Lok Sabha elections and ensure peaceful conduct at vote counting centres in their respective districts on Tuesday. He held a meeting with all senior police officials of the State on Monday through a video conference for a district-wise review of the preparations regarding the vote counting process to be held on Tuesday. The ADG directed the officials to ensure three-tier security arrangements at all the vote counting centres as per the order of the Election Commission of India (ECI). The police must ensure proper anti-sabotage checks at the entry and exit points of the vote counting centres. The police officials concerned will ensure that the traffic plan prepared by the police is being followed by people. Sinha said that all people must park their vehicles at designated parking spots as per the police’s plan. Besides this, no unauthorised people should be allowed to enter the vote counting centre premises. No vehicle should be parked within 100 metres radius of the centre. The police should also make proper arrangements regarding crowd management after the declaration of the polling results. After the completion of vote counting, the police should deploy an adequate police force on the route fixed for the victory procession of the leaders. All in-charges should ensure that the police personnel work in a disciplined manner and no negligence will be tolerated in carrying out duty by the department, Sinha added.
