Ahead of the festive season, the district administration has intensified preparations for smooth traffic flow, crowd management and public safety in city markets.

On the instructions of district magistrate Ashish Chauhan, additional district magistrate KK Mishra held a meeting with officials of police, administration, municipal corporation and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce. Mishra directed the officials to ensure effective traffic and safety measures in Paltan Bazaar and other busy markets, saying increased festive footfall requires better pedestrian convenience and space for emergency movement.

He directed that vehicle entry will remain prohibited in Paltan Bazaar from 11 AM to 7 PM and traders will do loading and unloading only before 11 AM and after 7 PM to reduce congestion. The administration and police will also launch an anti-encroachment drive in Paltan Bazaar and other major markets and take action against encroachments, street vendors and other obstructions blocking traffic.

Mishra instructed police, municipal corporation and administration officials to maintain regular surveillance and take joint action as needed. He also appealed to Chamber of Commerce representatives to cooperate with the administration and asked traders not to store goods outside shops and to keep traffic routes free.
