Schools to be closed for Kainchi Dham fair

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Nainital district education department has declared closure of all government-run, government-aided and private schools located in Bhimtal, Bhowali, Jeolikote Marg and Bhumiyadhar Marg as part of security measure for the annual Kainchi Dham fair. Informing this, the district chief education officer Jagmohan Soni said that the school shutdown decision had been taken in view of the security of the children in anticipation of huge crowd for the Kainchi Dham fair. Notably, this fair is held every year to mark the foundation of the shrine/ashram by the revered saint Neem Karoli Baba.

Meanwhile, to scrutinise the security arrangements for the fair, the DIG Kumaon range Jogendra Singh Yadav and SSP Nainital Prahlad Narayan Meena visited Kainchi Dham.
