The stage is set for the two cricket titans-India and South Africa-to clash in the T-20 World Cup final to be held in Barbados with rain likely to interrupt. These two teams have remained unbeaten in this tournament with India thrashing England and South Africa battering Afghanistan to reach the semi-finals.
As per the T-20 records, India seems to have an edge over South Africa. They faced each other six times in the T-20 World Cup and India registered win in four of them with the rest two being won by South Africa. As far as T-20 cricket is concerned, they faced each other 26 times with India having won 14 and South Africa, 11 while no result came out in one.
Meanwhile, as per the weather forecast, rain is likely to interrupt the final match. Heavy downpour is likely to lash Barbados from around 8 pm IST and so it seems that rain-triggered interruption of the match is imminent.
Keeping the possibility of rain- interruption in view, ICC has decided that the final will be played out the next day in case the final match is washed out. In case this replay cannot be played out there will be super-over play and in the event of super-over failing to be held due to rain, the two teams will be declared joint winners.
