In latest news about Uttarakhand, the State agriculture and rural development minister Ganesh Joshi met the Union tourism and culture minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat at the latter’s residence in Delhi and requested him to ensure that better facilities are provided to the Char Dham pilgrims and expand the area of tourist destinations in Uttarakhand.
Joshi told Shekhawat that in view of tourist pressure mounting up in the popular tourist places like Nainital and Mussoorie, other tourist destinations need to be developed near these places. Agreeing that tourism should be spread geographically to reduce pressure on the popular tourist sites, the Union minister assured Joshi that once the State government sends proposal on this matter, he would play a pro-active role in speeding up things.
