1,424 village Panchayats of U’khand declared TB free

Health Minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that the government of India has declared 1,424 village Panchayats of the State free from TB. He said that Uttarakhand is moving forward successfully to eliminate TB from the State.
Rawat said that the TB free Panchayats campaign is operational in the State under the National TB eradication programme of the National Health Mission (NHM). The minister said that following the successful implementation of the programme, the union government has declared 3,200 villages under 1,424 village Panchayats free from TB. Elaborating further Rawat said that 115 village Panchayats of Almora, 76 of Bageshwar, 115 of Chamoli, 187 of Dehradun, 18 of Haridwar, 124 of Nainital, 297 of Pauri, 124 of Pithoragarh, 44 of Rudraprayag, 144 of Tehri, 117 of Udham Singh Nagar and 23 of Udham Singh Nagar have been declared TB free.
The minister said that soon district level programmes will be held where these Panchayats will be handed over the TB free certificates.
The minister said that the TB free Panchayat campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Varanasi on March 24, 2023.
