Education Dept to appoint 2,906 primary teachers in Govt schools
CM to hand over appointment letters to new teachers on August 14

The Education department will soon make appointments on 2,906 posts of primary teachers. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will hand over appointment letters to some candidates in a programme organised at his residence on August 14. Prior to this programme, schools will be allocated to these teachers in counselling sessions organised in all the districts on August 10. Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government is committed to provide quality education to the students at the primary level. He said that soon appointment of new primary teachers will be made in the schools. The minister said that appointment letters to some candidates will be handed over by the CM on August 14. He said that district level programmes will also be organised in which local MPs, MLAs, public representatives and officers of the department will give appointment letters to the newly appointed primary teachers. Rawat said that all the district education officers (DEO) have been directed to hold counselling sessions of the eligible candidates. He added that all the DEOs should also ensure that all the eligible candidates are informed about the counselling and the documents they are required to carry in these sessions. Rawat said that all the districts have been directed to ensure uniformity and transparency in the process of counselling.
Rawat said that in the first phase 2,906 teachers will be appointed in the primary schools of the State. Appointment of 298 teachers will be done in Pauri, 446 in Chamoli, 182 in Rudraprayag, 315 in Tehri, 211 in Uttarkashi, 41 in Dehradun, 184 in Haridwar, 190 in Nainital, 142 in Almora, 187 in Bageshwar, 75 in Champawat, 326 in Pithoragarh and 309 in Udham Singh Nagar district. The minister exuded confidence that the appointment of these teachers will change the face of primary education in the State.
