Thunderstorms with very intense spells of rain likely in mountains today

Moderate rain was reported in various parts of the State on Thursday night and Friday morning. However, Dehradun and other parts of the State witnessed clear to partly cloudy skies coupled with humid conditions during the daytime on Friday. The State meteorological has forecast that light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Rudraprayag, Tehri, Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts and at isolated places in the remaining districts of the State on Saturday. The centre has also issued a yellow warning (Be Updated) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State today
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly cloudy sky. Thunder cloud development/light rain is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Friday were 34.4 degrees Celsius and 23.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.2 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 23.1 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26.2 degrees Celsius and 17.5 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
