State to get relief from heavy rain from today

Following two days of consistent rain which was heavy in some parts of the State, resulting in at least seven deaths due to disasters and accidents, the weather in the State is likely to calm down from Sunday. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous districts of the State. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail over the plain districts of the State today.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly cloudy sky on Sunday. Thunder cloud development is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, the rainy weather coupled with light snowfall in some mountainoius regions, caused a considerable drop in the maximum temperature in Dehradun and other places. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Saturday were 28.1 degrees Celsiua nd 21.3 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 29 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 17.9 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 22.5 degrees Celsius and 14.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
