In latest news from Uttarakhand, taking a serious note of lands in plains and hilly areas across Kumaon region being allegedly used in contravention of the land-use mentioned during the purchase, the Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat directed the officers concerned to start a probe. He said that over 250 such cases have come to the surface in Kumaon. He gave the probe directive while presiding over a meeting with the municipal commissioners, sub-divisional officers and tehsildars in Haldwani. He also highlighted the instance of land in Ramgarh being taken over by the administration after its wrong use was confirmed.
He made it clear that same actions would follow concerning the lands which had been purchased for investment purpose but were being used for other purposes.
