In latest news from Uttarakhand, the four-day Rishikesh Yoga Festival commenced at Parmarth Niketan Ashram coinciding with the birth anniversary of the revered figure in the world of yoga BKS Iyengar. The ashram head Swami Chidanand Saraswati offered homage to Iyengar. The festival precedes the upcoming Mahakumbh in Prayagraj where Parmarth Niketan will have a significant presence. Rishikesh Yoga Festival set the stage for the six-day International Yoga Festival starting from March 9 at Parmarth Niketan.
The Rishikesh Yoga Festival celebrates the contributions of local teachers and their pivotal role in preserving and propagating the culture of yoga throughout the year. The festival will conclude on December 16.
