Trainees from Taiwan complete Yoga & Ayurveda training at University of Patanjali

Trainees from Taiwan completed a six-day “Integrated Yoga and Ayurveda Training” at the University of Patanjali. The camp proved to be an important initiative toward international cooperation and spiritual exchange, said the Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev while introducing the yoga trainees from Taiwan to India’s Vedic traditions and healing methods.

The university sources said that the participants received scientific and practical training in yoga, meditation, pranayama, panchakarma, shatkarma, Ayurvedic dietetics, lifestyle principles and holistic health sciences. They were also introduced to Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali Yoga Sutras, asanas, mudras, bandhas and marma chikitsa. The participants described their experience as soul-touching and said that it provided a new perspective on the body, mind and consciousness.

In the closing ceremony, the dean, Faculty of Humanities and Oriental Studies, Sadhvi Devpriya  said that the role of yoga, meditation, pranayama and ayurveda is important in making humanity healthy, balanced and aware. “Patanjali at its level strives to serve humanity in the present digital age by propagating the knowledge of Vedas and Upanishads,” she added. The vice-chancellor of the university, Prof Mayank Agarwal was among the prominent present on the occasion.  Notably, a retired professor of IIT, Roorkee, V K Katiyar conceptualised the international collaboration with Taiwan which resulted in the programme, the university sources said.

In the closing ceremony, certificates were distributed to the trainees. They also gave a presentation of Yoga Sutra in Sanskrit language.
