BJP calls Congress’ manifesto hollow and bundle of lies

The Bharatiya Janata Party has dismissed the Congress’ manifesto as a bundle of lies, criticising it for its lack of vision. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan expressed doubts over the timing of the manifesto, suggesting it was more of a formality than a genuine effort to address the public’s concerns.
He stated that with only one day left in the election campaign, the manifesto’s impact on voters will be minimal. He claimed that the Congress had failed to outline any clear plans for local body development or explain how it will increase municipal revenue. He accused Congress of boasting about the achievements of its past governments without providing any practical solutions. He emphasised that the manifesto lacks details on how Congress will implement its promises, particularly regarding basic services like sanitation, drinking water, sewerage and drainage, which are already being addressed by the BJP through Smart City and other ongoing initiatives.
He also criticised Congress’ promises of an encroachment-free city and vendor zones, stating that Congress was at the forefront of illegal businesses run by outsiders and had consistently opposed any action against encroachments. He stated that BJP had already taken significant steps to establish vendor zones in local bodies and had worked to protect the homes of poor families in slum areas by passing ordinances, a move the Congress had failed to implement. Chauhan also questioned Congress’ credibility on its claims regarding slum dwellers, asserting that only the BJP had shown genuine concern for their welfare.
He said that the timing of the manifesto raised further doubts about Congress’ sincerity, with its promises arriving too late to have any meaningful impact on the voters. According to Chauhan, the Congress manifesto was as hollow as the party’s intentions, revealing its lack of seriousness about the upcoming elections.
