U’khand Police committed to making State film-friendly destination: DGP

Director general of police Deepam Seth stated that the police is committed to making the State an ideal, film-friendly destination. He said this when the joint chief executive officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council (UFDC) Nitin Upadhyaya met him here on Tuesday.
Upadhyaya emphasised the important role of the police in facilitating film shoots. He said that a nodal officer has been appointed in each district to handle film shooting permissions, streamlining the process for filmmakers. Many filmmakers from India and abroad are drawn to Uttarakhand due to its peaceful environment and a good law and order situation, she said.
Further, Seth appreciated the Uttarakhand Film Policy and assured that the Police department would provide all possible support to create a welcoming environment for filmmakers. He announced plans for a joint meeting involving all senior/superintendents of police, district nodal officers and representatives from the Film Vikas Parishad to discuss the shooting permission process in detail.
During the meeting, Upadhyaya also presented a memento from the UFDC and a booklet outlining the new film policy to the DGP.
