As preparations for the upcoming National Games in Uttarakhand gain momentum, the vice chairman of the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) Banshidhar Tiwari conducted a comprehensive review of the beautification works being carried out by the authority on Wednesday. His inspection spanned the stretch from Maharana Pratap Sports College Stadium to the Dehradun airport, with a clear directive to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and with the highest quality standards.
During his visit to Maharana Pratap Sports Stadium, Tiwari stated that hosting the National Games is a matter of immense pride for the state of Uttarakhand and the residents of Dehradun. Reflecting on past initiatives, he stated that the MDDA had successfully undertaken beautification projects and showcased Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage during the G-20 Summit and the Global Investors Summit.
The VC urged officials to approach the current preparations for the National Games with the same level of dedication and attention to detail. He stressed the importance of incorporating elements of the State’s traditional culture into the beautification efforts, ensuring that athletes and visitors from across the country gain a glimpse of Uttarakhand’s unique heritage.
Tiwari said that as the city gears up to welcome athletes and dignitaries for this prestigious event, the officials concerned should ensure to present a well-prepared and culturally vibrant Dehradun to the nation.
