After completion of elections in the 100 urban local bodies in the State, the process of elections has started in 670 cooperative committees.
Releasing the dates of the elections, the chairperson of the State cooperative election authority Hansa Dutt Pandey said that the election of members of committee will be held on February 24 while the elections of the delegates will be on February 25. He said that for the first time, 33 per cent reservation will be provided to women in the election of the cooperative committees.
As per the election schedule, the interim voter list for these elections will be released on February 11 and on February 13 the objection on the list will be registered. On February 14 hearing on the objections will be held and disposed of.
The final voter list will be released on February 14. The filing of nomination papers will be done on February 15. The elected delegates will elect the members of district committees, cooperative federations and cooperative banks.
