The carcass of a tiger was discovered in the Gebua beat of Belpadao range under the Terai West forest division on Monday. Initial investigations suggest that the tiger died following a fight with another tiger.
Divisional forest officer PC Arya said that forest personnel found the body of an adult tiger during routine patrolling deep in the jungle. The big cat had visible injury marks on its body, indicating that it was likely injured during a territorial fight with another tiger, which eventually led to its death.
An investigation into the incident is underway. The carcass was sent for post-mortem examination, after which it was disposed of as per protocol.
