To ensure the pilgrims’ safety in the wake of the heavy rain alert issued by the Met department for August 12, 13 and 14, the respective district administrations have suspended the Yatra to Kedarnath, Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib for the three days.
The Chamoli district magistrate, Sandeep Tewari confirmed the suspension of Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib Yatra, saying that pilgrims’ safety mattered the most for them. The Rudraprayag DM, Prateek Jain said that along with the suspension of the Kedarnath Yatra, all the departments have been put on the alert mode in view of the heavy rain warning for three days.
