The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) held a sensitisation event in Rudraprayag. The Rudraprayag district magistrate Prateek Jain ordered that all departments should procure BIS certified products as far as possible.
Citing the considerable tourism potential in the district, he said that efforts should be made to establish the use of the prescribed standards.
Addressing the gathering, BIS Dehradun director Saurabh Tiwari informed the district officials and public about Indian standards, quality and consumer rights.
The programme was aimed at informing the district officials about standards, quality management and consumer rights so that they can pursue their departmental targets more effectively while also protecting the rights of the consumers.
