Nine new dengue cases reported in Dehradun

Dehradun District has encountered a rise in dengue cases, with nine new cases reported on Thursday. The Dehradun Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma informed that among these nine cases, three were reported at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, two at Graphic Era Hospital, two at Himalayan Hospital, one at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and one at Subharti Hospital. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 335, with 160 cases originating from Dehradun and 175 cases from other districts and States.
Currently, 31 dengue patients are receiving treatment. Among these, 19 are hospitalised at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, five at Himalayan Hospital, three at Graphic Era Hospital, two at AIIMS Rishikesh, one at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital and one at Kailash Hospital. On Thursday, health officials collected 253 dengue samples, raising the total number of samples tested to 17,680.
Additionally, on Thursday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and volunteers from the health department conducted 10,890 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, larvae were found in 173 homes. To date, the health department has completed a cumulative of 14,65,973 household surveys, with 12,659 yielding positive results. On Thursday, ASHA workers and volunteers inspected 71,342 containers and found that 206 of them contained larvae. Overall, they have examined a cumulative of 97,92,887 containers, with 16,824 testing positive for larvae.
