21 active dengue cases in Dehradun district

The Dehradun district has reported a total of 21 active cases of dengue, following the identification of six new cases on Tuesday. According to Dehradun chief medical officer Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, the new cases were identified at various hospitals, with four cases reported at Himalayan Hospital and two at Subharti Hospital. This brings the cumulative number of dengue cases to 570, with 268 confirmed in Dehradun and 302 in other districts and States.

Currently, 21 patients are receiving treatment for dengue: 11 at Himalayan Hospital, five at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, three at Graphic Era Hospital, one at Kailash Hospital and one at Subharti Hospital. Health officials collected 196 dengue samples on Tuesday, increasing the total number of samples tested to 31,075, Sharma stated.

He further added that additionally, on Tuesday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and volunteers from the Health Department conducted 6,888 household surveys to identify the presence of mosquito larvae. During these surveys, larvae were found in 66 homes. Overall, the Health Department has conducted a total of 19,46,252 household surveys, with 18,802 revealing positive findings. ASHA workers and volunteers also inspected 29,185 containers on Tuesday, discovering larvae in 71 of them.
