A special event will celebrate the achievements of women since the State’s inception, the challenges they continue to face and their role in building a developed India of the future. This event will take place to mark the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the State. Regarding this, the Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister, Rekha Arya reviewed the preparations during a meeting held here on Monday. Arya informed that the event will be organised on November 8 at Gaulapar Stadium in Haldwani.
The programme will consist of two parts: the first will include a talk show, group discussions and discussions on a vision for the future of women. The second part will feature events such as “Jhauda,” cultural dances and singing, she said.
Arya stated that thousands of women participating in the event will be dressed in their traditional attire. She also said that a vision document will be created for this occasion, developed by engaging with women who have made outstanding contributions in various fields. Exceptional women will be honoured at the event. Arya directed departmental officials to finalise the preparations for the celebration.
