The Bharatiya Janata Party State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the Congress which is raising the issue of the ‘VIP’ in the Ankita Bhandari murder case had turned its back when asked for evidence.Had the Congress been serious, it would have recorded its statement along with evidence in the court.
He said that the then director general of police had made a public appeal asking anyone with information on the ‘VIP’ to inform the police. Nobody came forward at that time and the situation is the same now. By creating an unnecessary controversy in this case, the Congress is insulting her memory, Bhatt said.
Referring to the viral video which is not officially verified yet, the BJP State president said that it appears to have been tampered, adding that a complaint had been lodged in the matter but the Congress is still trying to use it as a political weapon. The past actions and political conspiracies of the woman who has shared the audio clip are not hidden from the public, he added.
