BJP distances itself from AI video, accuses Rawat of drama

The Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed that the AI-generated video featuring Congress leader Harish Rawat was not made by the party, adding that the BJP does not intend to defame anyone. If Rawat has lodged a case, it should be properly investigated as the BJP also wants such videos to be probed and will follow the legal procedure. The party said this after former chief minister Rawat filed a police complaint against the video on social media, which shows him indulging in appeasement politics.
The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that Rawat has often been accused of appeasement politics. He said that the Congress veteran had earlier visited various pilgrimage sites, probably to atone for his errors. He is now resorting to legal procedure to divert attention from appeasement. The BJP will fully follow the legal procedure and respond to the allegations as per the constitutional provisions, he said.
“Harish Rawat was seen opposing all the major decisions taken by the State government including the implantation of the UCC, stricter legal provisions against religious conversion, anti-riot law and removal of unauthorised religious structures. He tried to corner the State government on these issues. Rawat’s intentions are totally political. He is realising after five years that the BJP is cornering him on appeasement though the reality is different. He has gauged the mood of the public and is lacking support from his own party. He is playing the victimhood card to gain sympathy, which the public will not accept,” Chauhan said.
