CS asks officers to maintain ecological balance in developmental project implementation

Chief secretary Anand Bardhan has directed the State administration to pay special attention to maintaining ecological balance while implementing the developmental projects. He said that the efforts should be made to make the developmental schemes sustainable in the long run. The CS gave the direction during the meeting of the Expenditure-Finance Committee at the State secretariat on Thursday.

In the meeting, the CS directed all the departments concerned to ensure the implementation of approved schemes in a practical, economical and transparent manner while focusing on the quality. He directed the officers to ensure that all the projects be completed expeditiously and within the stipulated time frame.  In the meeting, discussion on many important development projects was held and approval was given to them.

Under the AMRUT 2.0, the Sahastradhara drinking water scheme was approved for Dehradun district. The scheme will be implemented by the Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan. The proposal for construction (revised) of Satpuli Barrage in the Dwarikhal/Ekeshwar development blocks of Pauri Garhwal district was also approved. Approval was given for construction of Type-II, Type -III and Type-IV houses in the Haldwani fire station of Nainital district. The proposal for construction of the office building of the Urban Development Directorate on Sahastradhara Road was also approved in the meeting. The plan for construction of the main office building of Municipal Corporation Rudrapur was also approved. 

Secretaries Nitesh Jha, Shailesh Bagauli, SA Adanki, Yugal Kishore Pant and other senior officers attended the meeting.
