In a road accident on Monday, a speeding car ran over two women walking along the roadside, resulting in their on-the-spot death. The car, coming from Kaladhungi towards Ramnagar, lost control near Bailpadav. With the help of the locals, they were immediately rushed to a hospital where doctors declared them dead.
The deceased have been identified as Kamla Devi (54), a resident of Bailpadav, and Pushpa Devi (50), a resident of Pattapani.
The driver fled the scene after the accident. Police impounded the vehicle and initiated an investigation. The Kotwal Arun Kumar Saini stated that they are on the lookout for the driver. “He will be arrested soon,” he added.
