Contact 104 toll-free helpline number for cervical cancer vaccination information: CMO

The Dehradun chief medical officer Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, stated that for any information regarding the cervical cancer vaccination (HPV vaccine), the district immunisation office or the toll-free helpline number 104 can be contacted.
Following the CMO’s instructions, the Immunisation Cell is currently running an awareness campaign for cervical cancer vaccination in schools across Dehradun. Girls aged 14 to 15 years are eligible for this vaccination campaign. A team led by district immunisation officer Dr Dinesh Chauhan organised awareness workshops at several schools, including Government Girls Inter College on Rajpur Road, Government Inter College in Patel Nagar, Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School in Patelnagar, among others. Over 900 girls participated in these workshops. Sharma urged parents and teachers to encourage adolescent girls to get vaccinated against HPV for the sake of their health. Chauhan provided detailed information to the girls about the causes, symptoms and side effects of cervical cancer. He emphasised the importance of the HPV vaccination, which is provided free of charge by the government. He encouraged the girls to take the initiative to get vaccinated for HPV to ensure a healthy future. Free vaccinations are available from 8 AM to 8 PM at the model vaccination centre established at Gandhi Shatabdi Eye Hospital.
