PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Rudrapur

To stop the black marketing of urea, a surprise inspection of plywood factories in SIIDCUL located in Rudrapur was done under the supervision of SIIDCUL general manager/sub-divisional magistrate, Rudrapur, Manish Singh Bisht.

During the inspection, their stock was verified and the purchase willow and stock of technical grade urea being used by them were matched. Besides, clear instructions were given to the management of the plywood factories that if any industrial unit uses the urea provided by the Government of India for use in agriculture, legal action will be taken against it under the Essential Commodities Act 1955.

Notably, to increase agricultural production for farmers, Neem coated urea (selling price of one bag weighing 45 kg is Rs 266.50) is made available on subsidy by the Government of India, whereas for use in industrial units, non-subsidised technical grade urea (market price of one bag weighing 50 kg is Rs 3500) is available in the market.

The chief agriculture officer, Vikesh Kumar Singh Yadav urged the farmers to inform the Agriculture department or the local police if they see subsidised urea being used in any industrial unit. “Action will be taken immediately,” he added.
