More than 10 lakh people have visited the Char Dham- Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri since the start of the Yatra less than a month ago. According to official data, more than 32 lakh people have registered to undertake the Char Dham Yatra so far.
According to information provided by the office of the Char Dham Yatra Management and Control Organisation on Sunday, a total of 1,046,405 people have visited the Char Dham so far. It will be recalled that the Char Dham Yatra began with the reopening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham in Uttarkashi district on April 19. This was followed by the reopening of the Kedarnath Dham in Rudraprayag district on April 22 and Badrinath Dham in Chamoli district on April 23.
The State government is expecting the Char Dham Yatra pilgrim numbers to break the record of the previous year. The pilgrimage in 2025 was affected by disasters in Uttarkashi and elsewhere in the State which had affected the smooth flow of the Yatra for some time. With more than 32 lakh persons already having registered for undertaking the pilgrimage, the authorities expect the pilgrim numbers to surpass past records this year.
