SIR second phase starts, Guv & CM given enumeration forms

With the distribution of enumeration forms among voters beginning with the start of the second phase of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the State on Monday, an enumeration form was presented to the governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh at the Lok Bhawan in Nainital. Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat, additional secretary Reena Joshi and other officials presented the form to the governor as part of the SIR exercise.
In Dehradun, the chief electoral officer BVRC Purushottam presented the enumeration form to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The CEO said that SIR is being conducted by the Election Commission of India for purification of the electoral rolls. All voters in the State will be provided enumeration forms under this exercise. During a month-long period till July 7, the booth level officers will digitalise the enumeration forms of voters through the BLO app, he said. The assistant chief electoral officer Mastu Das was also present on the occasion.
The enumeration forms were also presented to Bharatiya Janata Party State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt, Pradesh Congress Committee president Ganesh Godiyal, Communist Party of India (M) State general secretary Rajkumar Purohit, Bahujan Samaj Party State secretary Jaspal Singh and others.
