Hundreds of employees of the Uttarakhand Purva Sainik Kalyan Nigam Limited (UPNL), deployed at the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital, are facing hardships as they have not received their salaries from the last two months.
With the delay in salaries, managing household expenses has become a great challenge, they said.
Informing this, the UPNL district president, Ganesh Godiyal said that around 250 UPNL employees perform duties at GDMC Hospital. “They have not, however, received their salaries since April. We have discussed the matter with the director of the Medical Education department and the principal of GDMC. They assured that they will raise the matter at the appropriate levels,” he added.
Commenting on this, the principal of GDMC said that the salary issue will be resolved only after the State administration issues orders regarding a recent High Court ruling on the payment for outsourced employees.
