Cabinet minister Ram Singh Kaira conducted a surprise inspection of the Jaspur municipal council office. Checking the attendance register, he found many staff members absent, some of them for many days. Kaira also found signs of alcohol consumption in the office.
Stating that negligence will not be tolerated in public interest works, he directed officials concerned to inquire into the matter and take action against employees found guilty. “Answerability to the public is our top priority and resolving public grievances is the responsibility of officials. Strict action will be taken against officials who do not discharge their duties efficiently,” he said.
