Seva Pakhwada: Saurabh Bahuguna lists Govt’s achievements

Cabinet minister in-charge of Uttarkashi district, Saurabh Bahuguna inaugurated the Sewa Pakhwada to mark the completion of the Pushkar Singh Dhami government’s five years in office here on Saturday. During the event, he inspected the development exhibitions set up by various departments and stalls displaying public welfare schemes.
Addressing the gathering, Bahuguna said that thanks to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s special attachment with Uttarakhand and under the chief minister’s leadership, development work in the State has gained new momentum. He mentioned the significant increase in the number of Char Dham Yatra pilgrims after 2014. “The State government has taken historic steps towards good governance by implementing a Uniform Civil Code, strict anti-copying laws and anti-riot laws. Besides, Uttarakhand was given the opportunity to host the National Games for the first time and a decision has been taken to provide four percent horizontal reservation in government jobs to outstanding athletes,” he added.
He further highlighted 33 per cent reservation in government jobs for women. “Over two lakh women associated with self-help groups have been economically empowered through the Lakhpati Didi scheme,” he stated.
Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan said that construction of a critical care hospital costing Rs 23 crore is underway in his constituency, while construction of Aastha Path costing Rs 113 crore would begin soon.
