A complaint has been filed at Rajpur police station against the management of Earthcon Private Limited over alleged tampering with fire extinguishers at Rajpur Greens Group Housing Society in Rajpur. The complaint was submitted by the society’s secretary Yogendra Kumar Gupta. He alleged that old fire extinguishers installed between 2019 and 2022 were falsely marked with the year 2026 to make them appear recently refilled.
As per the complaint, the incident took place on July 1. Residents claim that the act was captured on a CCTV camera installed by the society president Rupali Jyoti. The footage allegedly shows a project management employee writing the current year on old fire extinguishers. The complainant has accused the company’s director Shadab Khan, project manager Arun Shakya and an employee Vivek of carrying out the act to avoid the cost of refilling the extinguishers and to hide safety violations before any inspection by the Fire Service. The complainant said that photographs of the fire extinguishers show fresh 2026 markings written over older faded markings. He also alleged that some fire extinguishers from A block were secretly removed by the project management on July 2. The CCTV recording and photographs have been offered as evidence. The complaint states that the alleged actions put the lives of residents at risk and amount to cheating and forgery. The Rajpur police station in-charge PD Bhatt said that the complaint has been registered and an investigation has been started.
