PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

The president of Bhairav Sena Sandeep Khatri who had alleged theft and irregularities in the offerings at Badrinath Dham has demanded that an independent high level investigation committee headed by a retired judge of the Supreme Court should be constituted in the highly sensitive issue. Addressing a press conference on Monday, he said the State government should take lessons from neighbouring Uttar Pradesh where a SIT was constituted on the orders of chief minister Yogi Adityanath immediately after the issue of theft in offerings at Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya came into light. He said that it is extremely unfortunate that the Uttarakhand government has not taken any cognizance of the issue of theft in offerings at Badrinath Dham. Khatri said that the internal committee investigation ordered by the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) chairperson is nothing but an eyewash. Khatri said that the CCTV footage of July 2 should be made public if the actions of the suspected employee are recorded.  He demanded that the report of investigation of the VIP hospitality scam should be made public. Khatri said that the police should register a FIR in the case.

The district president Anil Kumar said that the Bhairav Sena will not remain quiet in the issue which has hurt the sentiments of the people and warned that state-wide agitation will be launched if stern action against the culprits is not taken.
