Two found dead in separate suspected suicide cases

Two separate suspected suicide cases were reported in Dehradun within 24 hours, leaving local residents shocked. In the first case, Cantt police received information on Tuesday that a man was found hanging from a tree in a wooded area near Audit Bhawan. The deceased was identified as 36-year-old Santosh Das, a senior technical associate with the Forest Survey of India. He was living in Prempur Mafi and was originally from Birbhum district of West Bengal. Police also recovered a suicide note which stated that he had taken the step on his own and did not blame anyone for his death. In another case, Nagar Kotwali police received information through the 112 emergency helpline on Monday night that a 22-year-old woman had died by suicide at her house on Bakralwala, Nashville Road. Police and a forensic team reached the spot where the woman was identified as Jasmine Kapoor. Police said that she was found hanging from a noose made from her scarf and tied to the ceiling fan. Investigation is underway in both the cases.
