HIMS Jolly Grant achieves 100 kidney transplant milestone

Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), Jolly Grant Dehradun has claimed to have completed its 100th kidney transplant. Speaking of the achievement, the president, SRHU, Vijay Dhasmana said that completing 100 successful kidney transplants is a significant achievement for HIMS Jolly Grant.
He congratulated the transplant team, doctors, nursing staff and supporting personnel. “HIMS Jolly Grant is a world-class accredited institution for kidney transplantation in Uttarakhand, supported by a specially trained team capable of performing complex transplant surgeries,” he stated and added that organ transplant services at Himalayan Hospital would be further expanded, with plans for liver, heart and pancreas transplantation in the future.
The achievement was celebrated at the university campus on Saturday. The vice- chancellor of the university Rajendra Dobhal and principal Dr Renu Dhasmana were present on the occasion.
The presence of kidney donors and transplant recipients added special significance to the celebration, HIMS sources said, adding that several family members had donated kidneys to their loved ones, including a woman who donated a kidney to her husband and another donor who donated a kidney to her son.
