Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the poor and vulnerable sections of society are part of the State government’s family and every effort is being made to ensure that no elderly, widow or disabled has to make rounds of the offices for getting their pensions. He was addressing a programme of the Social Welfare department at his camp office on Saturday.
In the programme, the CM transferred a sum of Rs 146.50 crore to the bank accounts of 9,87,017 beneficiaries as pension under different social security schemes for the month of July 206.
He said that the State government is committed to the welfare of every section of the society. The CM added that pension funds are being transferred directly to accounts of the beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner, ensuring that eligible individuals receive direct benefits from government schemes. The government’s goal is to ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach the last person standing on the social ladder, he said.
Dhami said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the State government is working to make Uttarakhand strong and self-reliant with the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’.
Speaking on the occasion the Social Welfare minister Khajan Das said that the Social Welfare department has paid the pension as instalment for the month of July 2026. He said that the beneficiaries include 2,15,000 pensioners from the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, who are currently being paid through a new system called SNA Sparsh.
The secretary Social Welfare Sridhar Babu Addanki, director Tribal Welfare Sanjay Tolia, additional secretary Sundarlal Semwal and others were present on the occasion.
