The district sports office along with the guidance of the district administration, the support of the Tourism department and the Youth Welfare department, organised a cycle rally on Sunday as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The event took place in both men’s and women’s open categories, starting at 6 AM from the Pavilion Ground. A total of 142 men and 25 women participated.
According to the officials, the cycle rally began at the Pavilion Ground and passed through several locations including Kanak Chowk, Astley Hall Chowk, Behl Chowk, Dilaram Chowk, Brahma Kamal Chowk, Canal Road and NIEPVD. Participants then cycled back to conclude the event at the Pavilion Ground.
After the rally, prizes were awarded to participants in both categories through a lucky draw. Cabinet minister Khajan Das and Uttarakhand State Level Sports Council chairman Kuldeep Butola presented the awards.District sports officer Shabali Gurung, district tourism officer Jaspal Chauhan, regional youth welfare officer Manoj Kapri and others were also present on the occasion.
