A couple returning home on a scooter was attacked by a tiger that had been hiding along the roadside on Saturday night. The woman riding pillion, sustained injuries to her legs after the tiger struck her with its claws. Her husband raised an alarm and managed to scare the animal away before taking his injured wife to the Ramnagar joint hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
According to information, Ravi from Lootabadh village was returning home from Ramnagar with his wife Babita on a scooter on Saturday night. As they approached Lootabadh, a tiger hiding along the roadside suddenly attacked their scooter. Both were startled by the sudden attack during which the tiger injured Babita on her legs with its claws. Despite the sudden attack, Ravi remained calm and started shouting to scare the tiger away. Hearing the noise, the animal fled towards the forest.
Following the incident, ranger Puran Singh Khayanat of the Aampokhra range under the Terai West forest division reached the hospital along with forest officials and enquired about Babita’s condition. The forest team also collected details about the incident. Villagers have urged the Forest department to increase patrolling in the area and closely monitor the tiger’s movements.
