LPG consumers get more time to complete e-KYC

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE /Dehradun

The deadline for completing e-KYC for domestic LPG connections has been extended to August 23 in the State, Dehradun district administration officials said. The extension has been given by the Government of India to give consumers more time to complete the process.

District supply officer KK Agrawal urged consumers not to wait until the last date. Dehradun district has 7,16,845 domestic LPG connections. Of these, 5,57,546 consumers have completed their e-KYC, while 1,59,299 are yet to complete it. The pending consumers include 9,243 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Aggarwal informed that the e-KYC can be completed through three methods. Consumers can visit their gas agency, use the mobile app and biometric device available with the gas delivery person or complete the process themselves through the authorised mobile app of Indane, Bharat Gas or HP Gas.

The DSO has appealed to all LPG consumers to complete their e-KYC before the deadline. The process is important as consumers who fail to complete it by August 23 may face disruption in their domestic LPG supply and will have to get gas at commercial rates.
