The newly appointed national vice president of the Bharatiya Janata Party Tirath Singh Rawat was accorded a rousing welcome at the State BJP office in Dehradun on Wednesday. Notably, this was his first visit to Uttarakhand after becoming the national vice president of BJP.
Welcoming Rawat, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that his new role is a recognition of his extensive organisational experience and dedication to the party. Dhami expressed confidence that Rawat’s experience would undoubtedly benefit the BJP at the national level.
Taking aim at the Congress party, Dhami accused it of trying to divide Uttarakhand, a peaceful and socially harmonious state, along caste lines. Dhami also condemned the Congress and Rahul Gandhi over the Haldwani incident, where objectionable and religiously hurtful slogans were raised and bottles filled with urine were left strewn in the ground. He deemed such acts unacceptable in any civilized society.
CM called on Gandhi to explain to the people of the country and the State why he failed to condemn this heinous act that violated religious sentiments.
In his address, Rawat expressed gratitude to party officials and workers for their warm welcome and recognition. He praised Dhami for his role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India. Rawat encouraged workers to engage with the public about the Central and State governments’ welfare schemes and achievements, emphasising the importance of strengthening the party at the booth level. He called on every party worker to participate with dedication and solidarity in the forthcoming assembly elections.
