ECI to implement DSE & PSE modules in U’khand under SIR

The Election Commission of India has decided to implement the Demographic Similar Entry (DSE) and Photo Similar Entry (PSE) modules in Uttarakhand in the ongoing process of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in the State. Under DSE and PSE, the voters whose names and pictures are found in the modules in different voter lists as similar names and pictures will be issued notices and given 15 days to respond.
The information was given by the chief electoral officer (CEO) Uttarakhand BVRC Purushottam to the representatives of recognized political parties in a meeting held at the State secretariat on Tuesday. In the meeting, a detailed discussion regarding the ongoing SIR was held. The CEO informed that the ECI has extended the date of final publication of the voter list in Uttarakhand to October 3, 2026.
He said that notices regarding various types of anomalies were issued to 24.30 lakh voters in the State and the electoral registration officers (ERO) and assistant electoral registration officers (AERO) have completed the process of hearing of 24.29 lakh notices.
The CEO informed the representatives of the political parties that hearing on more than 40 per cent of claims and objections on Forms VI, VII and VIII has been done under the SIR in the State.
Additional chief electoral officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande, deputy chief electoral officer Kishan Singh Negi, assistant chief electoral officer Mastu Das were present in the meeting. BJP’s Rajkumar Purohit, Advocate Satendra Jain, Indian National Congress’s Manoj Rawat, BSP’s Satendra Chopra and Bhimrao, Aam Aadmi Party’s Shyam Babu Pandey and CPI-M ‘s Anant Akash attended the important meeting.
