CM transfers Rs 18.49 cr to bank accounts of 10,709 construction workers

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami transferred a sum of Rs 18.49 crore to the bank accounts of 10,709 eligible beneficiaries under various labour welfare schemes of Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board in a programme organized at his residence on Saturday. 

In his address, the CM said that construction workers play a vital role in the development of the State. “The State government strives to ensure that workers and their families receive the benefits of education, health, nutrition and social security schemes in a simple, transparent and timely manner,’’ he said.

 The CM directed officers to ensure that the benefits of labour welfare programmes reach to the family of every eligible worker.  He said that coordination with the Health department should be made for proper treatment of those identified as having any illness during the health checkup.

Dhami also directed that effective promotion of education for workers’ children, nutrition for their families, women’s health and workplace health services be carried out. He said that eligibility verification and district-wise coverage should be regularly monitored with transparency in the implementation of schemes. Eligible workers living in remote areas should not be deprived of the benefits of the schemes.

In the programme, the officers informed the CM about the progress of the Labour Cess Collection Management System (LCCMS). It was informed that this system has been awarded the Skoch Gold award in the e-Governance category in the year 2025. Through this system, 21,200 establishments have been registered online and cess collection has increased by 47.21 per cent. 

Chairman of State Advisory Contract Board Kailash Pant, chairperson of Vigilance Committee Geeta Rawat, chairman of Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Sridhar Babu Adanki and others attended the programme.
