With a rise in the number of pilgrims visiting Badrinath Dham, the traffic system in Jyotirmath area collapsed on Friday with traffic congested between Jyotirmath and Vishnuprayag.
Locals opined that the jam is arising due to the traffic not being managed as per the plan prepared during the beginning of the Yatra. The journey to Badrinath Dham is in its post-monsoon second phase due to which the number of pilgrimages is also rising consistently.
A large number of pilgrims are also reaching Brahma Kapal in Badrinath to offer prayers to their ancestors during the ongoing Pitra Paksh.
The increased number of pilgrims has also exacerbated the traffic woes in the Jyotirmath area due to the detriment of both the visitors and the locals.
