Various decisions taken in cabinet meeting

A number of decisions were taken by the state cabinet in its meeting presided over by chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Wednesday. Informing the media about the decisions taken in the meeting, cabinet minister and state government spokesman Madan Kaushik said that decisions were taken on a total of 10 issues in the meeting.

He said that though women play a major role in the state’s economy, those women who do not have land in their name face problems while securing loans. To address this issue, the cabinet approved formation of a committee headed by the chief secretary. The committee would comprise the additional chief secretary, revenue secretary and legal secretary. This committee will provide suggestions for facilitating ownership right for women. The cabinet also approved allocation of 0.113 hectare land to Kendriya Vidyalay Sangathan for setting up of a Kendriya Vidyalay at Deghat in Almora district. It also approved the decision to hand over 0.2561 hectare out of 0.4250 hectare land under Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority for the riverfront development project back to the municipal corporation of Dehradun. Further, the cabinet also approved the promulgation of the Uttarakhand Housing Policy (Amendment) Rules, 2020. It was also decided that the chief minister meritorious student award scheme will be implemented under the higher education department to present awards to meritorious students. Under this scheme, the students who secure first, second and third positions in the final examinations of graduate classes will be presented with Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. Similarly in post graduate classes the first, second and third position holders will be presented cash rewards of Rs 75,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively. The recruitment of staff nurses through the technical education council will also start soon. The cabinet also approved promulgation of the Uttarakhand Consumer Protection (State commission and district commission chairman and members service conditions, salary allowances) rules 2020 under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. It was also decided that the public service commission’s 19th report from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020 will be tabled in the Vidhan Sabha. Further, under the labour department, the workman license renewal will be facilitated online.
