Covid-19 patient tally mounts to 87940 in U’khand
Eight deaths, 564 new patients reported on Wednesday
The number of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Uttarakhand climbed to 87940 on Wednesday with the state health department reporting 564 fresh cases of the disease. The authorities also reported the death of eight patients of the disease on the day after which the death toll mounted to 1447 in the state. The health department discharged 547 patients from different hospitals on the day. A total of 79888 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far in the state. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 90.84 and the sample positivity rate is 5.28 percent.
Two patients of the disease each were reported dead at the Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun, Velmed hospital Dehradun and Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on Wednesday. One patient each was reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and HNB base hospital Srinagar on the day.
The authorities reported 230 new patients from Dehradun, 113 from Nainital, 37 from Haridwar, 31 from Udham Singh Nagar, 26 from Rudraprayag, 23 from Almora, 18 from Chamoli, 17 Pauri, 15 Tehri, 14 from Champawat, six from Uttarkashi and four from Bageshwar on Wednesday.
Uttarakhand now has 5507 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is at continuing to remain at top of the table of active cases with 1598 cases while with 1034 active cases Nainital is at second spot. Haridwar is at third spot with 406 active cases. Pithoragarh has 398, Almora 303, Udham Singh Nagar 285, Tehri 280, Uttarkashi 272, Chamoli 246, Pauri 230, Champawat 178 and Bageshwar 152 active cases of the disease. With 125 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag is now at the bottom of the table of active cases of Covid-19.
