Chamoli disaster; Governor Maurya takes stock of rescue operation

She also met the family members of missing people and assured them of every possible help. Maurya directed the Red Cross society to provide necessary help in affected villages. The governor told the media persons that the employees of administration, police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) are working with full commitment and efficiency. She expressed hope that the tunnel where some people are expected to be trapped would get opened and necessary aid is provided to the affected people. The speaker of Uttarakhand assembly Premchand Agarwal who was with the Governor during the visit said that rescue operation is continuing 24X 7 and expressed hope the soon positive results would come.

The Badrinath MLA Mahendra Bhatt, Garhwal Commissioner Ravinath Raman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Garhwal range Neeru Garg, District Magistrate (DM) of Chamoli Swati Bhadauria and others also accompanied the governor.
