In the case of the alleged scam in Covid-19 tests during the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar, one of the accused parties- Max Corporate Services has challenged the validity of the first information report in the Uttarakhand high court. The chief medical officer of the Haridwar district had lodged the FIR with the police against the petitioner and two pathology laboratories.
According to the advocate representing Max Corporate Services, Kartikeya Hari Gupta, the petitioner had entered into an agreement for conducting the rapid antigen tests with two laboratories recognised at the national level- Nalva laboratories private limited and Dr Lal Chandani labs limited. These two laboratories are recognised by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
According to Gupta, if any fake tests have been conducted, the petitioner has no role in that. The petitioner is ready to cooperate with the police in the investigation, considering which the police should be prevented from taking action against it. The petition was filed by Gupta in the high court on Friday.
